The dream of flying in the soul and in the skin
Did I want to do a tatoo to my 40 years (other accomplished dream), but which would the choice of the drawing that printing would be be forever in my skin?
Old Egypt, your pyramids, your history, your gods and faraós always brought me great interest. I will still take a trip to the corners of Africa and to appreciate this hermetic art of the old Egypt.
I tried then to unite two passions: the flight and old Egypt. There was an Egyptian goddess that had particularities that attract me.
It is Maat, Goddess of the justice, represents the truth, the rightness, the balance. " lives in a such way that your heart never weighs more than the feather of the justice and of the truth” - this goddess's proverb. Besides these moral attributes, she also had something that fascinates me, your wings.
In the illustration above, I see a reference between Maat and your wing with the current flyers of free flight.
It seems the flyer in the moment of take-off, getting ready and observing the favorable moment to become a to be winged.
Was, then, resolved the illustration that I would tattoo, a special goddess with wings and everything! January of 2006 the tatoo was made and your painting was made in April of the same year.
A piece of my flyer history began of body, soul and wings!
